Public & employers Liability
Public liability covers the cost of claims made by members of the public for incidents that occur in connection with your business as a sports club. Public liability insurance covers the cost of compensation for personal injuries, loss of or damage to property. For soccer clubs, this is an FAI requirement. Employer’s liability covers the club against claims made by employees who have suffered a job-related injury or illness, and a claim is taken against the club.
Property insurance
This protects the club’s property (clubhouse, dressing rooms etc.) against fire, lightning, explosion, storm, flood, burst pipes, impact and burglary (subject to security requirements).
Personal accident for players, coaches & committee
This covers players, coaches and managers for injuries sustained whilst playing/training, for both medical expenses and loss of earnings.
Directors & officers cover
Directors & officers’ liability is insurance payable to the committee/trustees of the club. It acts as indemnification for losses or advancement of defence costs in the event the club suffers legal action brought for alleged wrongful actions in their capacity as trustee or committee members.
